How it all Started
Back in 2019 James Delaney and Kevin Malone had been playing some gigs with a band called Los Paradiso and would regularly jam together at Kevin’s practice space.
Over the course of these sessions, they began thinking of trying some traditional Irish tunes with a rhythm and blues/Funk type backing. Eoghan O Neill, who was a long-time friend of the two was asked if he would be interested in this project which he was.
The rhythm section was now established.
James had been introduced to a great Donegal fiddle/Whistle player Ciaran Tourish and after a few jam sessions with the lads THE LoCAL was complete.
Over the next few months, the band continued to rehearse and craft their new sound when Eoghan suggested bringing in Joe Gallagher as a fifth member. Joe had worked with all members as a studio engineer and producer on different projects over the years.
The band moved down to GAF STUDIOS in Tipperary for a few Demo sessions which turned into the production of the band’s first album.
The album was complete with contributions by the very talented Anto Drennan on guitar and a promotion video by Mark Fitzell when ‘BANG” Covid put a stop to everything.
So here we are now! What to do?
We have been sitting on this body of work that we are all very proud of and decided to share it with you. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.
Meet The Band
Ciaran Tourish
Ciaran Tourish hails from Buncrana in East Co. Donegal. Although Ciaran started playingthe tin whistle at an early age, he soon took up the fiddle under the guidance of local legendary fiddler and teacher, Dinny McLaughlin.
He was a member of well-known Irish traditional band Altan from 1990 until 2017.
In addition to his mastery of the dance music tradition, Ciaran’s quick ear, love of harmony and counterpoint have led to his talent being in demand as a valued collaborator on many Irish and non-Irish music projects with a wide range of musicians and singers including Paul Brady, Matt Molloy, Clannad, Mary Black, Maura O’Connell, Mark Knopfler, Brendan Quinn, Máirtín O’Connor, Dolores Keane, Dé Danann, The Chieftains, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Everly Brothers, John Prine, Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas and Tim O’Brien to name just a few......
He released his first solo recording “Down the Line” in 2005 featuring guest musicians Arty McGlynn, Paul Brady, Maura O’Connell, Tim O’Brien, Alison Krauss, and Jerry Douglas among others.
Eoghan O'Neill
In a career spanning almost forty years as a bassist Eoghan OʼNeill has recorded and performed a large and varied cross section of contemporary music. He was a member of the original version of the highly acclaimed Irish music crossover band Moving Hearts and his playing with this band got him noticed as a session player. His credits range from people as far apart on the musical map as Tammy Wynette and Terence Trent DʼArby.
During the eighties he recorded five albums with British songwriter Chris Rea including the massively successful 'On the Beach'.
Eoghan was a member of the original Riverdance Orchestra and held the post of musical director in the U.S. touring show (The Lee Company) until it was disbanded. Since then, he has been playing on and producing albums.
Among these are two productions for Celts Heritage star Dan ar Bras, and Breton legend Gilles Servat. He worked with Celtic Woman as bassist and touring musical director for thirteen years, which ended in 2016. Eoghan continues to play with Moving Hearts, Mick Hanly, and many other friends.
Joe Gallagher
Joe has been in the music business for over 30 years, he started in the late 80’s as a bass player with THE PADDIES who were a punk/trad/folk/RnR band who toured and recorded in Ireland at the time.
Over the years his love for (the other side of the glass) recording and audio engineering grew and lead him to establishing his own recording studio in Tipperary.
He continues to work as a studio/ live sound engineer and educator from GAF STUDIOS.
Joe has worked with some of the best Folk/Rock/Trad and Indi bands in the country along with a few visiting acts from abroad.
Joe has always retained the old values of “capture it live from the floor” approach, which made the project all the more enjoyable and sound great.

His unique drumming style and energy has seen him working with some of the best in the business such as, Van Morrison, Sinead O Connor, Ronnie and Phelim Drew, Cathy Davey, Don Baker, Bree Harris, Geraint Watkins, Niall Toner.
